With the founding of the Alpha Alliance, more than 30 leading European and international industrial companies are joining forces with Proxima Fusion to pool their expertise for the implementation of Alpha – a fusion demonstrator with net energy gain based on stellarator technology.
The project is considered a key milestone on the road to Europe’s first commercial fusion power plant.
Alpha is being developed by Proxima Fusion in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP). The aim is to validate key manufacturing methods, materials, and high-performance systems required for future fusion power plants. To this end, the Alpha Alliance coordinates industrial expertise along the entire value chain – from materials and components to system integration, infrastructure, and supply chains.
Kraftanlagen Energies & Services is one of around 30 companies in the Alpha Alliance and contributes its comprehensive expertise in industrial plant engineering and complex energy and large-scale projects to the consortium.
”“Kraftanlagen, participation in the Alpha Alliance offers an extraordinary opportunity to actively shape the development of a groundbreaking future technology that is also set to play a key role in Germany. As an experienced partner in plant engineering, we are contributing our expertise to the consortium and thus making a concrete contribution to the industrial implementation of fusion technology.”
Florian Stöger, Head of Business Unit Industry at Kraftanlagen
