Solar+: Demand-driven solutions for industrial decarbonisation beyond electricity

Kraftanlagen Energies & Services, Bouygues Energies & Services and Equans join forces in the German market as international EPC providers of large-scale PV plants and integrated system solutions.

Kraftanlagen Energies & Services, Bouygues Energies & Services and Equans join forces in the German market as international EPC providers of large-scale PV plants and integrated system solutions. From 14 to 16 June, the company presented to an international trade audience innovative ways of using photovoltaics to generate not only electricity but also process heat or hydrogen for industry in a climate-neutral manner.

Innovative and state-subsidised integrated solutions in the Solar+ sector

As a general contractor, Kraftanlagen Energies & Services develops and builds plant concepts for the generation of CO2-free steam for peak loads (power-to-heat), CO2-free process heat for medium and base loads (green heat modules) with electro-thermal storage or CO2-free hydrogen by means of an H2 electrolyser. The integrated solutions are developed, planned, built and serviced by Kraftanlagen Energies & Services, starting with the customer’s concept idea In this way, Kraftanlagen enables the cost-effective and effective decarbonisation of industry and makes a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and thus to achieving our climate targets. For this reason, the German government is subsidising its planning and construction (BAFA subsidy) or its operation for up to 15 years (Contracts for Difference, launched on 6 June).

Integration into the Equans Group enables expansion of solar business

Over the past decades, Kraftanlagen Energies & Services has evolved from a traditional power plant builder into a service provider for energy-efficient and sustainable technologies for energy, industry and building services. Through its affiliation with the Bouygues Group and its acquisition last year of Equans ̶world market leader in the energy and services industry ̶ Kraftanlagen has been able to further expand its expertise in the solar sector and, together with Bouygues Energies & Services and Equans, is now implementing high-performance solar PV projects ranging from 5 MWp to 250 MWp. Together, Equans and Bouygues Energies & Services, as leading international solar EPC service providers, have already installed a total of 5.5 GWp of solar PV and 550 MWh of battery storage capacity worldwide.
