Kraftanlagen Energies &amp; Services SE is implementing the project as the general contractor.<\/p>\n<p>Those attending the event included Nuremberg Mayor Marcus K\u00f6nig, N-ERGIE Board Member Maik Render, and Kraftanlagen Energies &amp; Services Board Member Florian St\u00f6ger. In their opening remarks, they made it clear that the project goes far beyond the construction of a single plant. It is a key component of a sustainable, climate-friendly energy supply in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Above all, <strong>Nuremberg Mayor Marcus K\u00f6nig<\/strong> emphasised the project\u2019s significance for urban development and climate strategy: \u2018With the new combined heat and power plant, we are laying the groundwork to ensure that our new Tiefes Feld neighbourhood and large parts of Nuremberg will be supplied with heat in a reliable, efficient and increasingly climate-neutral manner in future. This is an important step towards sustainable urban development and improving the quality of life in our city.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This combined heat and power plant is another important step on our path towards decarbonising district heating. By combining highly efficient combined heat and power units, a large heat pump, buffer storage tanks and electric heaters, we are creating a flexible system that is operating efficiently today and is ready for the hydrogen-powered future,\u201d added <strong>Maik Render, spokesman for the executive board of N-ERGIE.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Florian St\u00f6ger, member of the executive board of Kraftanlagen Energies &amp; Services SE<\/strong>, also explained just how innovative the new combined heat and power plant\u2019s approach is. \u2018This project demonstrates how modern combined heat and power is conceived today: flexible, efficient, and hydrogen-ready. We are pleased to be implementing this future-proof energy system with N-ERGIE as the general contractor, thereby actively contributing to the region\u2019s sustainable heat supply.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The new combined heat and power plant is being built in the future &#8220;Tiefes Feld&#8221; urban district and will implement an innovative system combining various technologies. The project will utilize two combined heat and power units, a large-scale heat pump consisting of four modules that uses ambient air, and a buffer storage tank that enables the plant to operate flexibly. Additionally, the overall system will integrate existing electric heaters from the former Sandreuth combined heat and power plant. The plant is designed to operate with hydrogen in the future. The plant is scheduled to begin operating in mid-2028.<\/p>\n<p>Through this project, N-ERGIE and Kraftanlagen are promoting the implementation of integrated energy systems in urban areas that ensure
