Due to the continued increase of power generation from wind and solar energy, pronounced grid fluctuations are occurring frequently. The Power-to-Heat (P2H) process is very well suited for dealing with surpluses – and therefore to stabilise the grid. When using an electric boiler, a local and short-term electricity surplus in the grid can be transformed into storable heat quickly and efficiently.
Electric boilers and thermal storages relieve grids and allow energy to be used at a later point in time on demand.
In combined cycle power plants, thermal storages can decouple power generation from the demand of district heat customers. This allows power plants to generate power even if no heat is fed into the grid. The thermal energy occurring when the power is generated is simply stored and used at a later point in time. We are also providing our customers with tailor-made solutions for this process and its combination with electric boilers.
