Kraftanlagen Heidelberg GmbH carried out the new design and erection of the decontamination area with integration in the existing construction and plant areas of the Philippsburg nuclear power plant.

This project included the adaptation of the new plant areas to the operating requirements of the Philippsburg nuclear power plant and to the latest state-of-the-art while taking into account the current government rules and requirements.

In close coordination with the Philippsburg nuclear power plant and the authorizing government agencies, the concept development, authority engineering, disassembly engineering and the disassembly of the existing decontamination system, detailed engineering, fabrication monitoring, installation and commissioning of 17 partial sections were developed and implemented.

The supply and installation of the decontamination chamber with access area, the high-pressure water blasting system, the ventilation systems and the corresponding utility supply lines were handled by us. In addition, we procured and installed components such as the ultrasound system, the manual blasting and degreasing box as well as the handling systems.
