Medium pressure/low pressure piping systems in Block R of Boxberg power plant

Kraftanlagen München was responsible for the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, quality assurance and commissioning as well as the trial operation and the documentation of the medium-pressure/low-pressure piping systems for steam and condensate in the new Block R.

A new Block R was built at the Boxberg power plant site. The power plant features an output of 675 MW and achieves a net efficiency of more than 43 percent. Three additional power plant blocks on site have been connected to the network for some time. Blocks N and P, with a block output of about 500 MW each was commissioned in the late 1970s, the Block Q with an output of 900 MW in 2000.

Kraftanlagen laid approx. 16,000 of pipeline with nominal pipe diameters DN 25 to DN 800 and installed 801 valves. About 11,000 circumferential and nozzle welds for follow-up systems. The low weld seam touch-up rate of 1.7 percent is evidence of the high quality of Kraftanlagen's services.

The Berlin branch of Kraftanlagen München was responsible for this project.
