The biomass heating power plant, which Kraftanlagen Hamburg erected in Berlin's Neukölln district in 2003 for Harpen EKT, supplies the Gropiusstadt residential area and Neukölln hospital with heat. The erection contract consisted of detailed engineering, erection and commissioning of the peak and stand-by heating plant.
The plant consists of three hot water generators with a total output of 96 MW. The other components include furnaces, the fuel supply, an exhaust gas system and smokestack, water treatment, a ventilation and exhaust ventilation system, a UPS system, a gas warning system and a network coupling station.
Since the plant was built, Kraftanlagen Hamburg has been tasked with the repairs and maintenance of the entire scope of delivery. This service is usually provided once annually in accordance with VDMA Norm 24186 and manufacturer specifications. An additional task is the preparation and support of regular boiler inspections in accordance with industrial safety regulations.
Kraftanlagen Hamburg's own spare parts warehouse and the on-call service that is available 24/7 all year round ensure a quick response if required. Optimisations and energy controlling improve the plant efficiency, conversion work and innovations ensure that the plants are always state-of-the-art.
