E.ON Energy from Waste GmbH operates a power plant that primarily burns alternative fuels. Companies located in the industrial park of Premnitz as well as Premnitz municipal utilities receive process steam and heating steam from the power plant.
As the replacement for two water pipe boilers which were shut down, a new steam generator was installed as a shell boiler. The steam generator supports and secures the steam supply from the power plant.
The steam generator supplies hot steam with a working overpressure of 18 bar and a steam temperature of 275°C. The dual-fuel firing of the steam generator is done with natural gas and EL-type heating oil. A downstream exhaust-heated feed water preheater makes a low exhaust temperature possible and therefore a steam generation with an efficiency of > 95 %.
The contract, which was awarded to Kraftanlagen Hamburg in January 2012, includes execution, detailed and construction engineering, procurement and erection as well as commissioning and documentation of the steam and generation plant as technical general contractor.
