Coupling out electricity and heat from the operation of gas engines has long become a standard application. in the plant, which was engineered and built by Kraftanlagen Hamburg, the engine exhaust is also processed for further use – specifically the engine exhaust from the production process of airport components is treated and then used as inert gas in the autoclaves. The produced power, as well as the engine exhaust heat, is used by consumers within the facility.
The main components of this inert gas plant are 3 CHPP modules with an output of 0.5 MWel each and a three-stage exhaust cooling, cleaning and treatment, 3 blowers and 6 boosters for stocking compressed inert gas.
